UDL experience in shipbuilding spans over 50 years, beginning first in the late 1950s in its shipyard in Yau Tong Bay, Hong Kong. Engineering vessels built by UDL have long been acclaimed by customers for their practical design and high quality performance. By the 1990s, the shipbuilding unit had established to a one stop solution for its clients, from new building of various types of vessels to repairing and modifications work. UDL has also extended into the offshore engineering sector, involving in building of (i) offshore support vessels, (ii) modules fabrication of topside installation for oil and gas production platforms, (iii) fabrication of offshore rig components such as derricks, as well as (iv) pipework and ancillary installations.

Today, with a strategic network of 3 yards in Singapore and China, each with its own unique competitive advantages, UDL is able to satisfy its clients' requirements, whether it is time saving or cost saving.
